Bombay Talkies is a 2013 Indian anthology film consisting of four short films, directed by Anurag Kashyap, Dibakar Banerjee, Zoya Akhtar and Karan Johar. The music is composed by Amit Trivedi. It is selected at 2013 Cannes Film Festival, in celebration of Indian's Film Centenary.
The film has Amitabh Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Katrina Kaif, Randeep Hooda, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Vineet Kumar, Sadashiv Amrapurkar, Saqib Saleem and Lavin Gothi. Special appearances during the song Bombay Talkies (in order of appearance) are Aamir Khan,  Madhuri Dixit,  Karisma Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Juhi Chawla, Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukerji, Sridevi, Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, Imran Khan, Vidya Balan, Kareena Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Anil Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor and Shahrukh Khan.
Dream, Desire, Thought, Joy, Pain, Want, Love, Sorrow - Four story tellers come together to celebrate the emotion of cinema. The film's story revolves around the lives and problems of common people of our society while all the actors who played their roles looks much perfect and real.
The following are the films:
Karan Johar Film: An urban couple is happily married or at least it seems so until the wife meets a new colleague at work which changes her life forever.
Dibakar Banerjee Film: A failed actor is struggling to make a living after his father’s death. In a turn of events he stumbles upon his last chance to prove himself to the world and more importantly, to his daughter.
Anurag Kashyap Film (Murabba): A man from a small town in UP comes to Mumbai to fulfil his ailing father’s last wish which may also save his life.
Zoya Akhtar film: A 12 year old boy from a middle-class family is inspired by a film star to break the conventions of the society and follow his dreams come what may.
The film marks the completion of 100 years of Indian cinema and the beginning of a new era of modern cinema.
The music in this movie is given by Amit Trivedi and Lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya and Swanand Kirkire.
The film has songs like Bachchan sung by Sukhwinder Singh, Akkad Bakkad by Mohit Chauhan, Murabba (Duet) by Amit Trivedi, Kavita Seth, Bombay Talkies (Duet) by Kailash Kher, Richa Sharma, Murabba (Solo) by Javed Bashir and Apna Bombay Talkies by    Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik, Kumar Sanu, Abhijeet, Kavita Krishnamurthy, S. P. Balasubrahmanyam, Sunidhi Chauhan, Shaan, Shreya Ghoshal, Sudesh Bhonsle, KK, Sukhwinder Singh, Shilpa Rao, Mohit Chauhan and Sonu Nigam.
