Gippi
Gippi is a 2013 Hindi drama film, directed by Sonam Nair and produced by Karan Johar. The movie stars newcomer Riya Vij and Taaha Shah in lead roles.
The movie narrates the story of Gippi, a 14 year old girl who lives in Simla with her mother Pappi and her younger brother Booboo. She is awkward, overweight, and trying to deal with the physical, emotional and social changes that accompany a growing teenage girl. She has to deal with the bullying of queen-bee Shamira at school, and living with a broken home. She falls in love with an older, brooding heartbreaker, and is publicly scorned. This makes her decide to take her life in her own hands and stand against Shamira in the school elections. Regardless of the final outcome, Gippi makes sure she has a great journey, filled with delicious desserts, funny teachers, school crushes, and Shammi Kapoor dances.
The music for the film has been given by duo Vishal & Shekhar, and the lyrics have been given by Anvita Dutt and Vishal Dadlani.
