Prachi Desai, the television and Bollywood hottie, will be Modi's guest in the US where the Gujarati community is set to celebrate the golden jubilee year of their home state. Prachi will be flying to New Jersey to join Modi at the event. Actually, Prachi, a proud Gujjuben, could not make it to any of the celebrations being held currently in Gujarat due to date issues. But she had promised Modi that she would make up for her absence. The maverick politician took her up on this and invited her to New Jersey to represent the state. It is an official invite and Prachi is delighted to accept it. She feels honoured because she is one of the few to be invited from the state. She feels grateful to the people for their love which has brought her to this position and she finds this the best way to give back love and show her support.
Prachi has recently purchased a lavish apartment just beside her best friend, mentor and TV queen Ekta Kapoor's office in Andheri West. She must be celebrating the success of her latest movie Once Upon A Time In Mumbai by gifting herself this new apartment. Before this, Prachi was living in a rented house at Yari Road. Now, finally she has managed to buy herself an apartment after all these years. Her new home is reportedly a luxurious two-and-a-half BHK situated at Oberoi Spring in Andheri West, just minutes away from Ekta's office. Prachi saw many other apartments as well but she zeroed down on this apartment at Oberoi Spring. The interiors of the apartment are already done.

During Prachi's school days, she had a teacher named Miss Zenila who used to teach her art. She was the best teacher she ever had. The teacher was suffering from heart disease and Prachi and her family helped the teacher in every possible way. When she was admitted in hospital, Prachi's family stayed with her. Prachi helped her a lot, hoping that she would get well but they could not save her and Prachi felt very sad. Sometimes Prachi feels great that she and her parents helped the teacher when she was in need.
Prachi, who wore nothing but ethnic outfits during her TV serial days and played a character that was virginally pure, suddenly decided to go bold with Ekta Kapoor's latest film. She pulled off a steamy love-making scene with Emraan Hashmi sporting Dimple Kapadia's Bobby look with ease. But her sudden transition has shocked people, who have a set image of the actress in mind, including her family members. On the internet, some of her fans too have not been welcoming about her movie. Prachi hails from a slightly conservative family, and her relatives have called her up saying that they aren't happy with her decision to go bold on screen. They told her she should have stuck to her image that gave her the big break in Bollywood Rock On. They feel that now Prachi will be approached for bolder roles which will be hard to digest. But Prachi has put up a brave front as far as these criticisms are concerned. She doesn't agree that the scenes she did were too bold. She wants people to look at her from an actor's point of view and not stereotype her on the basis of what they have seen her do on TV. As an actor, she needed to break the set image to grow. It's not that she is going nude or doing something cheap. She has an urge to experiment and mature in the process.
