Dinesh Kamath's old article on Priyanka Chopra that was published in Newsband

Priyanka Chopra, who made her debut with the third season of the adventure reality show Khatron ke Khiladi, might just not want to do more of TV. Priyanka had replaced her former co-star Akshay Kumar as host of the show. And she had managed to garner TRPs of 5.5 for the opening episode. So why is Priyanka not too keen on stepping on TV again? Priyanka was offered the part of a judge on many shows but she turned them down. The reason was that she does not want to do TV for some time now and wants to concentrate on movies. TV shows needed a lot of time and commitment. Priyanka apparently compared her TV outing with that of other actors and she was not too excited with the results, when she drew comparisons. Priyanka started off very well. But the show didn't gain momentum and it ultimately failed in keeping the audience gripped. The audience also missed Akshay's signature touch — that of a daredevil in the show. That is why Akshay has been brought back to host the fourth edition of the show.
Many actors are treating their television outings very seriously and are as picky about the shows as they are about their films. TV offers good money and has a wider reach. This enables the star to truly connect with their fans on a regular basis and it makes them more approachable. That's why the stars are so selective about the TV shows they pick. So, maybe Priyanka can try her luck with a crime-based TV show next, considering that she got away with seven murders in her last film!
Priyanka who has celebrated womanhood on screen with Fashion, What's Your Rashee? and 7 Khoon Maaf lashed out at Bollywood for being hypocrite. “What's so happy about the Women' Day?” Priyanka asks. According to her, “a remarkable movie is made about a brave woman taking her destiny in her hands. And the film flops. People reject it. And now they are celebrating Women's Day. It is the height of hypocrisy. And you expect me to be happy about it and join the celebration.”
Priyanka was in two minds about doing Kunal Kohli's as-yet-untitled film – opposite Shahid Kapoor –. But Kohli insists his film will feature Priyanka opposite Kapoor. But Priyanka has been quoted in reports saying that the “film is not confirmed yet and I am still in talks with Kunal.”. It had been suggested that Priyanka's reluctance is due to her hectic schedule. As she wraps up Farhan Akhtar's Don 2, Hrithik Roshan-starrer Agneepath is set to roll followed by Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Barfee and Krrish 2.
Praneeti, Priyanka Chopra's lovely cousin, is all set to make her Bollywood debut with Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl. Piggy Chops' lil sister shares a very good relationship with her older cousin and thus she gave Priyanka a list of goodies to get for her. Praneeti requested Priyanka to shop for her. She asked for a Blackberry phone and a laptop.
For your information, Priyanka has gifted 'good friend' Shahid Kapoor a helmet on his birthday.
The actress recently tweeted, “Awesome few days in NYC.. needed the break.. now back to work..sooo looking forward to goin to malaysia for don 2..my fav crew..look out...!”
Priyanka isn't a pretty Bollywood actress only but also a good songstress. In fact, she has music in her genes as her father Dr Ashok Chopra is a trained singer who loves singing Mohammad Rafi songs. Piggy Chops is planning to cut an international album with none other than Lady Gaga. She has reportedly already met with Lady Gaga. And, in all likelihood the 25-year-old American singer-songwriter, who is a rage and our very own B-town beauty, may just collaborate on an album, it is reliably learnt. Lady Gaga is reported to be keen on visiting India and learn about its music and culture.
Priyanka seems to have taken her role in 7 Khoon Maaf a little too seriously! The versatile actress, who gets married seven times in the thriller, says she would love to marry at least six times in real life - but to the same man. She has been planning her wedding since as far back as she can remember! Her ideal scenario is getting married six times (to the same man of course). Priyanka revealed this in the second anniversary issue of fashion magazine Harper's Bazaar. The 28-year-old, one of the most eligible singles in tinsel town, already has elaborate plans set in her mind about the six spots and types of ceremonies she would like to have. She says, 'My dadaji's (grandfather's) house in Ambala - my 'big, fat Indian wedding'; underwater at the Great Barrier Reef in Australia; a church in Las Vegas - wearing a short black dress and with the priest dressed as Elvis; the intimate ceremony - at a small, beautiful church in Locarno, Switzerland. It's on top of a hill that overlooks parts of Germany, Italy, and Switzerland.' She also wants to go in for a nikah. 'Only very close family and friends will be present; a nikah - I think it's a beautiful, romantic ceremony - the curtains, the stolen glances, the words, and finally the acceptance... Kabool hai; and lastly, the groom's choice! If my future groom survives all that, then we'll survive anything!' she added.
I've not finished with Priyanka yet and hence will continue with her tomorrow even. Till then, good bye!
