Sonam Kapoor to star in Khubsoorat
remake
Actress Sonam Kapoor, will be reprising the character of Rekha from
Hrishikesh Mukherjee's Khubsoorat. She will bring a modern touch to the iconic
role.
The 27-year-old has been roped in to play the female lead in the remake
of the 1980 hit. The classic comedy had Rekha portraying a vivacious and fun-loving girl.
This remake will have Sonam taking the spirit of the character and giving
it a modern setting. This film will be the modern version of the old film. It
won’t have the same same story line.
Before starting the shoot, the
young actress has taken blessings from Rekha.
The original was directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee and starred Rekha,
Ashok Kumar, Dina Pathak and Rakesh Roshan.
The remake version will be directed by Shashanka Ghosh and produced by
Sonam's father Anil Kapoor and sister Rhea.
Sonam is very excited to work in this film.
