Gajapati Raja Divyasingh enthralls Navi Mumbaikars

NAVI MUMBAI: King of Puri Sri Gajapati Raja Divyasingh Dev gave a spiritual discourse on Lord Jagannath at Odhisha Bhavan, Vashi, Navi Mumbai on Sunday, 2nd June 2013 in the evening at 7 p.m. in the presence of a large number of devotees of Lord Jagannath. A ‘Satsang’ was arranged at Odisha Bhavan. The citizens of Odisha staying in the city attended this event in big number.
The Odisha Bhavan was decorated for the occasion. The sparkling presence of Lord Jagannath, Brother Balabhadra and Sister Subhadra enchanted the devotees. There was a slight rainfall too at around 6.30 pm.
King of Puri, Sri Sri Gajapati Raja Divyasingh Dev arrived at around 7.30 pm and he was greeted by the jam packed gathering of devotees with a standing ovation. Prior to the discourse, Priests sung hymns in Sanskrit in praise of Lord Ganesh and Lord Jagannath. After lighting the lamp and doing the Pooja, by offering floral tribute to Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra, Sri Sri Gajapati Raja occupied the Vyaspeeth.
He gave the lecture in Odia language. But there were few non-Odia devotees too and for their benefit he promised that he would be giving the same lecture in English on the next day in Powai, Chinmay Ashram.
At around 8 p.m. he started his Satsang by singing Sanskrit shlokas in the glory of Lord Jagannath. The audio visual discourse spell bounded the devotees, with a flowing and enchanting oration of Divyasingh Dev. He sang the glories of Lord Jagannath and also said that the Lord is the originator of Yoga and told this Yogic knowledge to Brahmadev, so as to unite the mind, body and soul, which is the ultimate path to reach the Supreme. He explained in detail about the Yuga’s, the Manu’s, and the Manvantar’s and the vast time span of each entity. He also spoke about the greatness of Lord Jagannath, how he control’s the Universe as the master of Universe, how he goes on vacation for a past time of nine days with his brother and sister, about the journey from Gundicha Mandir to the present day sanctum sanctorum Jagannath Temple.
He touched on how in the Purana’s a sacred huge tree came flowing from the sea into the shores of present day Odisha and how the God’s, the Sages, the King and the Devotees were guided by sage Narada that the tree is ‘Vigraha’ of Lord Jagannath himself. He was able to simplify the vast and deep knowledge of God in simple manner. Everyone was glued to the screen and with apt concentration, devotion and Love for the Lord, listened to the King of Puri. He said, how Maha Vishnu gave the knowledge of ‘Bhakti and this tradition was passed from Narada to devotees in the Trikhand.
He made it clear that idols in the temple at Jagannath Puri are not mere idols but the Lord himself, he who control’s the Universe by his mere grace. He said that everyone should surrender to Lord Jagannath and he will take care of all.
Towards the end of the lecture, he invited questions from the august gathering. He gave prompt and exact answers to spiritual mysteries.
The program was not only graced by the devotees but also by various reporters and press photographers who were present to highlight the event. The spiritual discourse ended on a fitting note with a sumptuous ‘Prasad-dinner’ for each and every devotee, who were satisfied not only spiritually, mentally but also physically with a full course of mouth watering, delicious food served at the venue at around 9.30 p.m.

Thus, the ‘Satsang’ ended in an enthralling note.
